Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (formerly Chaldea Airport) (IATA: BEY, ICAO: OLBA) (Arabic: مطار بيروت رفيق الحريري الدولي) located 9 km (5.6 mi) from the city centre in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon and is the only operational commercial airport in the country. It is the hub for Lebanon’s national carrier, Middle East Airlines (more commonly known as MEA). It is also the hub for the currently grounded cargo carrier Trans Mediterranean Airways (more commonly known as TMA Cargo), as well as the new start-up charter airline, MenaJet.

It is the main port of entry into the country along with the Port of Beirut. The airport was selected by the famed “Skytrax Magazine” as the second best airport and aviation hub in the Middle East; it came just behind Dubai International Airport.

The airport is operated and maintained by Middle East Airports Services (MEAS) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the national carrier, MEA. MEAS conducts all airport operations from cleaning the bathrooms to de-rubberizing the runways. Operations are regulated by the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA), the Lebanese government agency which sets aviation guidelines, safety standards, etc. The LCAA is also responsible for operating the air traffic control (ATC) in the airport as well as regulate Lebanon’s airspace.

Taipei 101  a 101-floor landmark skyscraper located in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The building, designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners and constructed by KTRT Joint Venture, is the world’s tallest completed skyscraper. Taipei 101 received the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2004. It has been hailed as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World (Newsweek magazine, 2006) and Seven Wonders of Engineering (Discovery Channel, 2005). The building has since become a landmark emblematic of Taipei and Taiwan as a whole, making several appearances in various games, anime, novels, as well as other elements of popular culture. Taipei 101 is managed by the International division of Chicago based Urban Retail Properties Co.^[1]

The Falcon City of Wonders is a project to build a city in Dubai with replicas of the seven wonders of the world plus modern wonders such as the Eiffel tower and Taj Mahal. The project is led by Falcon City of Wonders Company, owned by local businessman Salem al Moosa. The estimated cost of the project is $1.5-billion.

When viewed from space, the city will form the shape of a falcon. The Eiffel Tower will be recreated into a hotel with glass in the space between the metal structure. It will also be taller than the original Eiffel Tower and be named “Dubai Eiffel Tower“.

The original concept was developed by the CEO under the guidance and visions set forth by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Almaktoum. The concept was later imitated by a fradulent company that was ultimately investigated and shut down by the government. Falcon City is now well underway and construction has already started

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, four-engined airliner manufactured by European corporation Airbus, an EADS subsidiary. As the largest passenger airliner in the world, the A380 made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 from Toulouse, France,^[2] and is scheduled to begin commercial flights on 25 October 2007 with Singapore Airlines. The aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX during much of its development phase, but the nickname Superjumbo has since become associated with it.

The A380’s upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage. This allows for a cabin with 50 percent more floor space than the next largest airliner, the Boeing 747-400,^[3] and provides seating for 525 people in standard three-class configuration or up to 853 people in full economy class configuration.^[4][5] Two models of the A380 are available for sale. The A380-800, the passenger model, is the largest passenger airliner in the world, superseding the Boeing 747. The A380-800F, the freighter model, is designed as one of the largest freight aircraft, with a listed payload capacity exceeded only by the Antonov An-225.^[6] The A380-800 has a design range of 15,200 km (8,200 nmi, sufficient to fly from New York to Hong Kong nonstop), and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h or 560 mph at cruise altitude).^[4]

The orientation of the Marina Tower is set on the radial axis of the harbor, emphasizing its vital link with the Beirut Western Marina.
 
A crescent shape has been used in the design of the structure to incorporate the naturally rounded forms of waterfront architecture and provide each of the apartments with dramatic panoramas to the sea, the mountains, the Beirut Central District Park and the Marina. The contemplative, clean-lined architecture consists of 26 floors that stretch 150m above sea level. The entire structure uses stone and glass with a combination of aluminum curtain walls and clear double-glazing that extends all the way to the top.
